BMP Name: Annual Public /City Council Meeting <br />Unique ID: I -02 -R <br />MCIVI: #1 — Public Education and Outreach <br />COMMUNITY PRIDE <br />1953 - 2003 <br />Description: <br />The City of Little Canada will hold an annual public meeting at a City Council meeting in <br />approximately February of each year to present progress to date on the City's SWPPP for the current <br />year and required activities for the following year. The City will follow applicable public notice <br />requirements and solicit public opinion about the adequacy of the SWPPP. The City will consider <br />both written and oral public comments. <br />Justification: <br />This is a required BMP under the NPDES General Permit Part V.G.1.e. In addition, public meetings <br />are an excellent way to gain public support by informing the public about the storm water issue and <br />related potential impacts. <br />Responsible Staff Position: <br />Public Works Director 651.766.4049 <br />Measurable Goals: <br />1. Prepare a notice of public meeting at least 30 days prior to the meeting. <br />2. Prepare draft annual report for presentation at the public meeting. <br />3. Hold public meeting and reserve time in meeting agenda for public comment. Review written <br />materials prior to and at the public meeting. <br />4. Analyze the public comments and adjust the SWPPP where appropriate. Summarize comments <br />and changes in the final annual report. <br />Implementation Schedule: <br />1. December of each year start preparing notice and distribute 30 days prior to meeting. <br />2. Review written and oral comments prior to completion of annual report. <br />3. Have draft annual report available at public meeting. <br />4. Complete edits to draft report and finalize by March 10 of each year. <br />Education Program/Public Outreach Component: <br />1. Audience or audiences: All City residents, City Council and others interested in attending the <br />public meeting. <br />2. Increased awareness: The public meeting will provide an opportunity to educate the target <br />audiences by giving them a good understanding of what the City is doing to meet and go beyond <br />the requirements of the NPDES Phase II Permit. <br />Annual Reporting Items: <br />1.
