BMP Name: Partner with Ramsey - Washington Metro 0{ Little Cary Watershed District Education Program lw aid Unique ID: 1 -04 sic a MCM: #1 — Public Education and Outreach COMMUNITY PRIDE 1953 - 2003 Description: The Ramsey - Washington Metro Watershed District has policies and programs in place to educate and involve the public in protecting water resources and related issues. The City of Little Canada will work with the Ramsey - Washington Metro Watershed District (RWMWD) to use their educational events and activities. Justification: Watershed Management Organizations depend on land use decisions made by the private sector and municipalities within jurisdiction. These organizations have more available funding and opportunity to work with multiple communities that is not available to local municipalities. Use of the RWMWD educational events and activities is a cost - effective and efficient way to provide a uniform education message to city residents. Responsible Staff /Position: Public Works Director 651.766.4049 Measurable Goals: 1. Obtain Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with RWMWD to provide educational activities. 2. Count number of educational activities that the City participated with the RWMWD. Implementation Schedule: 1. Obtain MOU with RWMWD to provide educational activities. Education Program/Public Outreach Component: 1. Audience or audiences: Residents and businesses. 2. Increased awareness: The program will educate the target audiences by giving them a good understanding of a variety of water quality topics and how citizens can make a difference. Annual Reporting Items: 1. Attainment of MOU. 2. Number of educational activities that the City participated in with the RWMWD.
