BMP Name: Development of Storm System Database Cdrickaq <br />Unique ID: 6 -05 -R <br />MCVI: #6 — Pollution Prevention /Good Housekeeping For <br />Municipal Operations <br />COMMUNITY PRIDE <br />1953 - 2003 <br />Description: <br />This BMP will create a database that will include infotutation on a range of City BMPs (ponds, <br />infiltration areas, etc.) and system elements (pipes, drainage -ways, ponds, basins, treatments <br />systems, etc.) located in the City. The City will review database options and intends to have a fully <br />functional system by the end of the first permit term. <br />Justification: <br />The database will assist the City in tracking the condition of system components, scheduling and <br />tracking inspections under related BMPs in the City's MS4 permit, and simplify completion of the <br />annual reporting requirements. Ultimately, the database will allow more efficient use of City <br />resources to comply with NPDES program requirements and there in protecting and improving water <br />resources in the City. This is a required BMP under Permit Part V.G.6.b. <br />Responsible Staff /Position: <br />Public Works Director 651.766.4049 <br />Measurable Goals: <br />1. Review database options and develop data base system by March 2005. <br />2. Select preferred approach and identify timeline and responsibilities for completion by March <br />2006. <br />3. Complete initial version of storm sewer system database by March 2008. <br />Implementation Schedule: <br />1. As described in the measurable goals. <br />Education Program/Public Outreach Component: <br />1. Audience or audiences: City staff involved in storm water and water resource inspection and <br />maintenance activities. <br />2. Increased awareness: The program will make known the importance of the database for the <br />inspection and maintenance program and annual reporting of the City's annual SWPPP activities. <br />Annual Reporting Items: <br />1.
