BMP Name: Storm System Maintenance Program <br />Unique ID: 6 -04 -R <br />MCM: #6 — Pollution Prevention /Good Housekeeping For <br />Municipal Operations <br />cid of tittle caneQ, <br />CCMMUNIN RIDE <br />1953 - 2003 <br />Description: <br />This program will result in timely maintenance of the District's storm system components inspected <br />under the program described in BMP 6 -03 -R. <br />Justification: The proper maintenance of storm water BMPs Is required to assure their proper <br />operation and perfo mance. This is a required BMP under Permit Part V.G.6.b. <br />Responsible Staff /Position: <br />Public Works Director 651.766.4049 <br />Measurable Goals: <br />1. Inspect and maintain system components according to the schedule specified (and as may <br />revised) in BMP 6 -03 -R. <br />2. Annually track the number of system components maintained and the general condition of the <br />BMP. <br />3. Estimate the volume or weight of material removed from structural BMPs following a <br />maintenance event. <br />Implementation Schedule: <br />1. Re- evaluate maintenance schedule following annual reporting results in March 2005. <br />2. Re- evaluate the maintenance intervals and increase frequency if both Year 1 and Year 2 <br />warranted cleaning or maintenance. Reduce frequency if cleaning or maintenance were not <br />needed in Year 1 or Year 2. <br />Education Program/Public Outreach Component: <br />1. Audience or audiences: City staff involved in storm water and water resource inspection and <br />maintenance activities. <br />2. Increased awareness: The program will make known the importance of the inspection program is <br />critical to the stocut water system maintenance program (BMP 6- 04 -R). <br />Annual Reporting Items: <br />1.
