CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2001 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF <br />THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA RELATING TO THE ADOPTION BY REFERENCE <br />OF THE MINNESOTA UNIFORM FIRE CODE AND ADDING SECTION 2002 OF THE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY LITTLE CANADA REGULATING <br />RECREATIONAL FIRES <br />The City Council of the City of Little Canada hereby ordains: <br />Section 1 <br />Section 2001.130 is hereby deleted in its entirety. <br />Section 2 <br />Chapter 2002 is hereby added to the Municipal Code of the City of Little Canada to read as <br />follows: <br />2002. RECREATIONAL FIRES <br />2002.010. Fires set in a fireplace, pit, or firering for recreational purposes or food <br />preparation purposes shall be permitted within the City of Little Canada only after meeting the <br />following conditions: <br />1. The recreational fire or cooking fire shall be contained in a fireplace, pit or <br />firering, designed for recreational or cooking purposes; <br />The size of the fire shall not exceed 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet; <br />3. The pers n rcsp neible f r the—fire , -tall—inform the dispatcher of the pollee <br />department of the name of the N \-nor, the ado - •phenc number f the property <br />where the fire is to be - located, ca }d -t-he time of the fire; The fire must be located at least 25 feet <br />from the nearest stricture and /or motor vehicle. <br />4. A garden hose and water supply or other fire - extinguishing equipment must be <br />available and a competent person of at least 18 years of age must be in constant attendance until <br />the fire has been extinguished; <br />5. No fire shall be permitted if the wind is in excess of 10 miles per hour; and <br />6. Only clean wood may be used as fuel, and no fire accelerants shall be allowed. <br />No yard waste (leaves and grass clippings) is allowed. <br />7. A recreational fire shall be extinguished immediately if it generates smoke that <br />becomes a nuisance to adjacent or nearby properties. <br />2 <br />
