As noted previously, the project includes $165,000 in funding from the CIP and $40,000 in funding
from the Canadian Days organizers, for a total of $205,000. As shown in the previous table, the
proposed project cost to implement all project components is $222,329.10 which is $17,329.10 over
the amount budgeted. Notably, most of the overage is equal to the 10% contingency line item which
may or may not be used.
Staff recommends the Council consider amending the budget to include an additional $17,500 from
Fund 400 so the base bid and both alternate bids can be awarded. If the Council does not wish to
amend the budget, staff recommends moving forward with the base bid only.
Strategic Priority:
N/A
Source Of Funds:
Project funding for this project is provided in the 2026-2035 Capital Improvement Program. Site
Electrical costs will be evaluated upon bids received and discussed with Canadian Days prior to the
recommendation of approval. Funds are available in Fund 400 to cover the project's additional cost.
Staff Recommendations:
1.Staff recommend that the City Council approve a budget amendment to Project Parks 12 (Fund
400) to include an additional $17,500 in funding for the project.
2.Staff recommend that the City Council award the project to Omann Contracting Companies to
include the Base Bid, Alternate Bid 1, and Alternate Bid 2 for a total contract of $158,806.50.
Attachments:
•Project Plans
