2 <br />The Towers, LLC has applied to construct a new 75-foot monopole telecommunications tower <br />(80 feet overall including a lightning rod) on the existing commercial property. The tower would <br />be located within a security fenced area containing associated ground equipment. <br />Proposed Site Plan (Sheet A-1) <br />The proposal requires approval of a Conditional Use Permit prior to issuance of building permits for the following reasons: <br />•All commercial telecommunications towers require Conditional Use Permits. <br />•A fence with barbed wire arms is considered a security fence and requires aconditional use permit. <br />Relevant City Code Sections The following sections of the City Code are applicable to this request: 1.Section 914.030 - Antennas and TowersThis section contains the criteria for all antennas and towers in Little Canada.2.Section 915.130 – FencesThis section contains relevant standards and requirements for security fences.3.Section 917.070 – Conditional and Interim Use PermitsThis section outlines the submittal and review requirements for Conditional andInterim Use Permit applications. <br />Conditional Use Permit Review Standards <br />1.The use is allowed as a Conditional Use in the zoning district and conforms to <br />standard zoning regulations;The subject property is zoned C-1 General Commercial. The City Code allows private telecommunication towers to be reviewed as a Conditional Use Permit in this district.
