<br />Low-income cost-assistance applications are fully funded by the Met Council. For standard <br />applications, the city is responsible for matching 20% of the Met Council’s contribution. <br />Therefore, the cost to the city would be $6,700. <br /> <br />Grants are awarded to municipalities for providing rebates or grants to property owners who <br />purchase products labeled WaterSense or ENERGY STAR®. <br /> <br />Additional requirements include: <br />• The applying municipality must be served by a municipal public water supply system <br />• New construction and new developments are not eligible <br />• A portion of each eligible grant activity’s cost must be paid by the property owner <br />• Funds are for rebates or grants only; consulting and city staff time are ineligible <br />• Grant recipients must display the Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment logo and <br />the Metropolitan Council logo on program-related web pages and paper communications <br />• Funds must be spent down by June 30, 2028 (municipalities and Met Council will work <br />together to monitor spending and adjust/reallocate funds as needed) <br />• Grant activities on municipal properties must supplement and not supplant dedicated <br />municipal funding sources <br /> <br />The city has designed the program to incorporate the criteria listed above and has developed an <br />application process that is available online. This program is designed to be on a first-come, first- <br />served basis for the following items: <br />Residential Properties <br />• Up to $200 or 75% of the project cost, whichever is less, when replacing: washers, <br />toilets, dishwashers, irrigation controllers, sprinkler bodies, irrigation audits <br />• Up to $100 or 75% of the project cost, whichever is less, when replacing: showerheads, <br />faucets (new for 2026-2028 application) <br />Commercial Properties (New for the 2026-2028 Application) <br />• Up to $500 or 75% of the project cost, whichever is less when replacing: washers, <br />dishwashers, irrigation controllers, sprinkler bodies, irrigation audits <br />• Up to $200 or 75% of the project cost, whichever is less, when replacing: toilets, urinals <br />• Up to $100 or 75% of the project cost, whichever is less, when replacing: showerheads, <br />faucets <br />Municipal Properties <br />• Up to $1,000 or 75% of the project cost, whichever is less, when converting existing <br />turfgrass to low-input landscaping/drought-tolerant alternative turf <br />• Up to $200 or 75% of the project cost, whichever is less, when replacing: toilets, urinals <br />• Up to $100 or 75% of the project cost, whichever is less, when replacing: showerheads, <br />faucets
