<br />In reference to the municipal properties portion of the grant application, the city will use grant <br />funds to replace toilets & urinals at Park Buildings. The city has also proposed a turfgrass <br />conversion project that is currently in the early planning and design phase, with a preliminary <br />site identified at City Hall. Design development is ongoing in coordination with Ramsey- <br />Washington Metro Watershed District. While final specifications and estimated water savings <br />are not yet available, the project is expected to reduce irrigation demand. The funds from this <br />grant will help pay for this project. <br /> <br />The program will be advertised in the upcoming July-September newsletter, an insert will be <br />included in the July utility billing cycle, and it will also be promoted on social media and the <br />website. Staff will follow all marketing requirements as outlined in the grant agreement. <br /> <br />As part of the grant process, Council consideration is required prior to an application submittal. <br /> <br />Budget: <br />The city portion of $6,700 will be funded through the water fund. As staff has prepared the grant <br />in-house, no additional costs will be incurred for purposes of applying for the grant. <br /> <br />Strategic Priority: <br />N/A <br /> <br />Recommendations: <br />Staff recommends that the council authorize staff to submit a grant application request to the <br />Metropolitan Council Water Efficiency Grant Program. <br /> <br />Attachments: <br />• Grant Application Draft <br />• Work Plan Draft
