<br /> <br /> Staff Report <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To: Mayor Fischer and Members of the City Council <br /> <br />From: Heidi Heller, City Clerk/HR Manager <br /> <br />Date: April 8, 2026 <br /> <br />Re: 2026 Canadian Days Fireworks Contract <br /> <br />Action To Be Considered: <br />Motion to approve, table, or deny the following: <br />• The 2026 contract with RES Pyro for two nights of fireworks during Canadian Days on <br />July 31 & August 1, 2026, for a total cost of $23,000, and authorize the City <br />Administrator to sign the contract. <br /> <br />Background: <br />The Canadian Days Committee is planning for two nights of fireworks on July 31 and August 1, <br />2026. The total budget for both nights of fireworks is $23,000, and the Canadian Days <br />Committee has again budgeted $4,000 toward the cost. <br /> <br />RES Pyro will provide the City and Canadian Days with a $5 million liability insurance policy. <br />RES Pyro has been the fireworks vendor for many years, and the city and Canadian Days have <br />been very satisfied with their performance. <br /> <br />Source Of Funds: <br />$19,000 will come from Fund 408, which is funded by the 10% gambling proceeds the city <br />receives from the Little Canada Canadian Days Committee, Little Canada Fire Department, and <br />Little Canada Recreation Association who operate charitable gambling in the city. The Canadian <br />Days Committee will pay $4,000. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendations: <br />Staff recommends approval of the 2026 contract with RES Pyro for two nights of fireworks for a <br />total cost of $23,000, subject to submission of the proof of insurance. <br /> <br />Attachments: <br />• 2026 Contract with RES Pyro
