In general, the funding details are outlined below. <br />The terms of a three-way cooperative agreement with MnDOT and Ramsey County will finalize the <br />construction cost sharing and are still being worked out. The agreement among the three entities will <br />be presented for city council approval before awarding a construction contract. <br />• Local Road Improvement Program (Grant) $1,500,000 <br />• Regional Solicitation Program (Grant) $3,500,000 <br />• Highway Safety Improvement Program (Grant) $2,000,000 <br />• Minnesota Department of Transportation $885,000 <br />o Trunk Highway NHPP Federal Funds - $796,500 <br />o Trunk Highway Match Funds - $88,500 <br />• Ramsey County, 100% CSAH Funds $1,030,040 <br />• Little Canada $2,004,960 <br />o MSAS Funds - $1,476,180 <br />o Local Funds - $528,780 <br /> <br />Schedule and Public Outreach: <br />Construction is anticipated to begin in July 2026 and continue through September 2027. May and June <br />of 2026 will be reserved for extensive private utility relocation, including power pole relocation, <br />selective burial of overhead utility lines, and replacement of the underground gas distribution system. <br /> <br />A community open house and additional communication efforts will be conducted to keep residents <br />and businesses informed throughout construction. Construction will be performed under traffic to <br />maintain access to adjacent properties. Lane restrictions and periodic lane closures, with signed <br />detours, should be expected. <br /> <br />Strategic Priority: <br />The planned corridor enhancements deliver on the following 2030 Strategic Plan objective: <br /> <br />Delivering Dynamic Community Spaces <br />Little Canada desires to connect the community by linking trails and sidewalks and creating a <br />community building for public gatherings. The city places a high value on keeping a small town <br />feel and sense of community.
