Hanson At the February 28t1i Council meeting, staff indicated that they would contact numerous vendors to obtain the best price possible for the box and plows for the new truck. As a result, staff contacted the six vendors listed below. Due to the great distances between vendors, it was felt that City crew time for pickup and delivery should also be accounted for in determining the best value for the City. As shown in the table below, J -Craft, Inc. was the lowest proposal at a total with crew time involvement at 331,079.96. The original cost presented to the Council for the box and plows was 328,798 plus tax. The low price by J -Craft for the box and plows plus tax is now $29,199, an increase of 3401 over what was presented to the Council on February 28th• This increase is due to a change in the hitch system for the plows to match the hitch system that we currently have for our plows. This enables us to use either plow on either truck.
