Mayor & City Council <br />March 20, 2001 <br />Page 2 <br />As you may know, there is pending legislation to eliminate the sales tax for municipalities. This <br />could result in a savings to our City of $1,540.96. In an effort to capitalize on this savings, J- <br />Craft has indicated that they are willing to delay work on our truck so that completion will occur <br />after August 1, 2001, the target date for the sales tax legislation. <br />Based on the above, it is recommended that the Council authorize staff to enter into a contract <br />with J- Craft, Inc. for the installation of the box and plows for our new truck at a total cost to the <br />City of $30,739.96 ($29,199 plus sales tax). <br />11: Kris( \CORRCSP \Kris' 2001 \Dump Box.doc <br />PAGE 4 <br />
