WEST <br />Mr. LaVaile introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 97 -70 -252 — APPROVING THE REZONING OF <br />THE SPRUCE STREET SITE AND THE RICE STREET SITE OF <br />THE ST. PAUL WATER DEPARTMENT PROPERTY FROM <br />GENERAL BUSINESS (3-3) TO PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT <br />(PUD) SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY PLANNER <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Moreian. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Moreian, Pedersen, Scaize, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution deciared adopted. <br />Fahey pointed out that in response to the request by U.S. West, the <br />Planning Commission tabled action on the proposed text amendment <br />which wouid allow commercial antennae on existing public utility <br />structures and associated utility buildings to house equipment packages <br />within all zoning districts until their November meeting. <br />Mr. LaVaile introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 97 -1 0-253 —TABLING ACTION ON THE <br />U.S. WEST REO UEST FOR TEXT AMENDMENT ALLOWING <br />COMMERCIAL ANTENNAE ON EXISTING PUBLIC UTILITY <br />STRUCTURES AND ASSOCIATED UTILITY BUILDINGS WITHIN <br />ALL ZONING DISTRICTS UNTIL THE NOVEMBER 26. 1997 <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Fahey, Pedersen, Moreian, Scaize. <br />Nays (0). Resolution deciared adopted. <br />ARCRlf`P CTURALFahey reported that Sian Crafters, representing, Arbyr s Restaurant. <br />REVIEW - has requested the City reconsider the architectural components <br />ARBY'S for the Arby's site on Rice Street which were approved during September. <br />specifically that the City allow back -lit canopies on the building. Fahey <br />noted that both the City Planner and the Planning Commission have <br />recommended against the backlit canopies. <br />Mike Lawrence, Sign Crafters, reported that at their September I I'' <br />meeting, the Planning Commission informed representatives of Arby's <br />that baciciit canopies were not allowed on their building.
