515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048
Email: cityhall @ci.little - canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Kathy Glanzer, Deputy Clerk
DATE: January 19, 2001
RE: Twin Lake Road/Trail Parking Survey
MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Matt Anderson
Rick Montour
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
The attached survey was sent to property owners on Twin Lake Road and Twin Lake
Trail in an attempt to define the parking problem which was raised at a recent
neighborhood meeting as well as determine the solution preferred by the majority of
residents in that area.
The results of that survey are summarized on the color -coded maps attached. Please note
from the maps that the property owners at 3283 and 3288 Twin Lake Road choose both
the options of "Parking should be allowed on only one side of the street" and "No
overnight parking should be allowed on the street ". I am also attaching a summary of
comments made by the residents on the survey forms.
Two survey forms were received without addresses, therefore, are not shown on the map
summary. These forms provided the following input:
Defining the problem:
2 — On street parking problems exist in isolated areas.
Choosing an option:
1 — Parking should be allowed on only one side of the street.
1 — No overnight parking should be allowed on the street.
Based on the results of the neighborhood survey, it is staff's recommendation that Twin
Lake Road be posted as no parking on the west and south sides of the street. Staff is
further recommending that parking remain unrestricted on Twin Lake Trail.
Page 86
