Yard Waste Collection Service (Not adjusted for the term of the contract):
Residential dwelling units may choose one of two options listed below with the understanding they may
make only one declaration per year. Should they choose the annual billing rate, they will be responsible
for the entire year's cost if chosen prior to the start of the collection season or a prorata amount to be
determined by the Contractor if chosen during the collection season; irrespective of the manner in which
they are billed for this service. The only exception to this provision is for a customer who discontinues
service as a result of moving from the residence in question. In this case, the annual feel will be adjusted
on a prorata basis. The two options are as follows:
♦ Annual billing for yard waste: $48 /year. (The collection year runs from April 1 through
November 30)
♦ Bag rate: $1.50.
City Billing Reduction.
A. The collection fee shall be reduced by $.50 per month for each collection option should the City
take over the responsibility for billing its residents for refuse collection services. The option
to do so is at the City's sole discretion and can be implemented upon ninety (90) days written
notice to Contractor. If implemented, the Contractor shall submit a bill to the City on or before
the 7 ' day of each month. The City would pay the Contractor before the end of each month
during the term of this contract. Compensation for services will be based on the rates listed in
Attachment "A" for each respected year less $.50. Contractor shall provide City with any
changes in service to its customers within those days of receipt. The City, at any time during
the course of this contract, may request a review of Contractor's records to verify the accuracy
of household collection and service levels.
Optional Townhome Rate.
A. The City shall at its sole discretion, have the option of implementing the "Optional Townhome
Rate ". It is understood that Contractors shall prepare this rate for consideration by the City.
If implemented, it will be done as an amendment to this contract. If the City is to implement
said rate, they shall provide ninety (90) days written notice of their intent to initiate such rate.
The Contractor shall then coordinate with the City for a timely transition to the new rate at the
conclusion of the ninety (90) day period. Should the City implement the billing option, said
rates shall be reduced by $.50 per month.
-21-
