DEMONT, LITTLE CANADA <br />RE: CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br />DAVE & BETH YOUNGQUIST <br />WE ARE REQUESTING THAT THE COUNCIL AND PLANNING COMMISSION PLEASE <br />LISTEN TO THE EXISTING CONCERNS IN REGARDS TO ADDITIONAL BUILDING ON <br />THE YOUNGQUIST PROPERTY. <br />WHEN OUR PROPERTY WAS PURCHASED IN THE LA 1 E 70'S THE CITY TOLD US THERE <br />WAS ONLY APPROXIMATELY THREE FETT OF FILL ON OUR LOT - -AFTER CONSTRUCTION <br />WAS STARTED WE HAD TO GO DOWN 19 FEET IN ORDER TO FIND SOLID GROUND. ALSO, <br />THE LOT JUST EAST OF US (YOUNGQUIST'S LOT) WAS UNBUILDABLE BECAUSE IT WAS TOO <br />SMALL STALED BY THE CITY. THIS TOO CHANGED A FEW YEARS LAIER. <br />WHEN RICK COLLOVA BOUGHT THE LOT AND WENT TO BUILD THE YOUNGQUIST HOME HE HAD <br />TO DIG OUT ALMOST THE ENTIRE LOT GOING DOWN APPROXIMATELY 24 -28 FEET IN ORDER TO <br />FIND SOLID GROUND FOR FOOTINGS. <br />WATER PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN A CONCERN SINCE WE BUILT OUR HOME AND BECAME EVEN <br />MORE OF A CONCERN WHEN THE YOUNGQUIST HOME WAS BUILT. WE CONTRACTED WITH A <br />WATERPROOFING COMPANY A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO TO TRY AND HELP OUR WATER <br />PROBLEM SINCE THE ORIGINAL STEPS WERE NOT ENOUGH . DURING WET TIMES WE HAVE <br />WITNESSED DAVE YOUNGQUIST PUMPING WA I ER OUT OF HIS HOUSE AND YARD INTO THE <br />STREET. <br />OUR LOTS ARE THE LOWEST IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. WE RECEIVE DOWNHILL FLOW FROM AT <br />LEAST EIGHT LOTS ON THREE SIDES. RIGHT NOW THE WATER WILL SIT ON THE ENTIRE EAST <br />SIDE OF HIS LOT, WRAP AROUND THE BACK SIDE OF HIS LOT, ONTO THE BACK SIDE OF OUR LOT <br />AND UP THE WEST SIDE OF OUR LOT. WE HAVE TRIED TO LEAVE A SMALL GULLY ON THE WEST <br />SIDE OF OUR LOT BECAUSE DURING THE WET SEASON IT IS NOT UNUSUAL FOR WATER TO SIT <br />THERE FOR A FEW DAYS OR MORE. OUR LOT DOES DRY OUT BEFORE YOUNGQUIST'S AND THAT <br />IS WHY IT IS OF GREAT CONCERN TO US NOT TO HAVE EXTENSIVE BUILDING PROJECTS ADDED <br />TO EITHER LOT TO INTENSIFY THE ALREADY SEVERE WATER PROBLEM. <br />WE WOULD NOT OBJECT TO HIM REPLACING HIS SHED WITH ANOTHER BUT TO PUT A BUILDING <br />UP AS LARGE AS HE IS REQUESTING WE ASK THE CITY TO PLEASE KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING. <br />ONE LAST REMARK IS EVEN THOUGH HIS LOT IS READING 217' DEEP ON THE DIAGRAM <br />FORWARDED TO US APPROXIMATELY ONE THIRD -ONE FOURTH OF HIS LAND IS ON A VERY 51 EEP <br />HILL. <br />WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING BUT IF ANYONE HAS <br />FURTHER QUESTIONS PLEASE FEEL TO CALL US AT HOME.
