History
Christ Community Church began bringing its vision and mission to life in 1989,
initially meeting at Turtle Lake Elementary School. We will celebrate our 1?
Anniversary in December, 2001. We currently maintain church offices at 4750
Churchill Street, Shoreview, Minnesota. For the past 9 years, Sunday morning
services have held in the Shoreview Community Center, 4800 Victoria Street, at
9:00 and 10:30 a.m.
In summer 2001, church membership totaled 180, and weekly attendance for the
last 12 months has averaged 354 persons spread equally over two Sunday
morning services. Based on current trends, we project that our average yearly
attendance will grow as follows:
2001: 369
2002: 411
2003: 453
2004: 482
2005: 512
2006: 543
2007: 576
Community Impact
The following is a current list of proposed and existing programming at Christ
Community Church, all of which is intended to have a significant positive impact
on the surrounding community.
Large Group Programs
Weekend Worship Services
Small Group Programs
• Day Care
• Preschool
• Latch Key (after school)
• Single Mom's (including auto
repair)
• Mother's Club
• Men's Group
• Vacation Bible School (summer
program)
• Community Service
THE PROJECT
Wednesday Family Nights
• Children's Club
• Senior High Youth Group
• Junior High Youth Group
• Senior Adults Dinner Group
• Good Cents Program (Financial
Planning & Debt Reduction)
• Prayer Groups
• Bible Study Groups
The use of existing non - traditional buildings for churches is not uncommon, and
there are several examples in the St. Paul area. The following two churches are
representative of successful churches that have used this approach:
Page 23
