2a t - wartalat
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(651) 484 -2177 / FAX: (651) 484 -4538
Email: cityhall @ci .little- canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
1'O: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel R. Ranson, City Administrator
DATE: December 15, 2000
RE: 2001 Budget
In finalizing the 2001 Budget, l want to make you aware of the changes that have
occurred since it was last discussed. They are as follows:
MAYOR
Michael 1. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Moreton
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Ranson
• The salary scale for Public Works Maintenance has been adjusted to provide a $.25
deduction for each license that they have not attained (Water and Sewer). Currently
the scale indicates a $.50 deduction if they do not have both licenses.
• Some minor adjustments to salaries were made to reflect previously agreed upon
wage increases. These adjustments are favorable to the City's budget.
• A Water & Sewer Capital Replacement Account has been adjusted to reflect the
greater financial impact of the proposed Twin Lake water project based on recent
engineer's estimates. The Fund still is operating at a positive level for 2001, but
shows deficits the last two years. The outcome of the Public Works Garage and final
costs for the water main could resolve this problem.
• The other infrastructure funds were adjusted for 2001 projects based on recent
estimates. They did not result in a major impact to those finds.
