Revised 12/06/00 <br />turn on or off any water supply at the stop box without permission from the Plumbing Inspector <br />Public Works Director. <br />1601.280. LAWN SPRINKLER RESTRICTIONS. The use of the municipal water system <br />for lawn sprinkling shall be regulated as provided in this Section. In the event the City Council <br />determines that a water shortage exists, the City Council is authorized to restrict the sprinkling of <br />lawns within the City by adopting a resolution setting forth the restrictions. During the period of <br />time set forth in the resolution, all property with addresses that end with an odd number may be <br />sprinkled on odd numbered days, and property with addresses that end with an even number may be <br />sprinkled on even numbered days. This Section does not apply to private wells. The violation of <br />any provision of the resolution shall constitute a misdemeanor. Upon conviction thereof, the violator <br />shall be punished by a fine established by City Council resolution of not exceeding 3700.00 or by <br />imprisonment not to exceed ninety (90) days or both, in addition to the costs of prosecution. <br />1601.300. WATER RATES AND COLLECTION OF CHARGES. <br />(A) There shall be a quarterly charge for water taken from the municipal water system. <br />In addition, there shall be a quarterly water service charge assessed to each property <br />that has water available for connection. These charges and the penalty in (G) below <br />shall be set forth and are subject to change by resolution of the City Council of Little <br />Canada and shall at all times be subject to provisions of pertinent contracts with the <br />St. Paul Water Department. <br />(B) All accounts shall be kept by the street number and under the account number <br />assigned thereto, and by the name of the owner. All bills and notices shall be sent to <br />the owner's address. If a non - residing owner desires bills and notices be sent to a <br />different address, they shall notify the Utility Billing Department. If the property <br />owner has requested bills and notices be sent to the property's tenant, and should the <br />tenant be delinquent in payment of account balances, the property owner shall be <br />ultimately responsible for payment of the water and water service charges. <br />(C) In case the meter is found to have stopped, or to be operating in a faulty manner, the <br />amount of water used will be estimated in accordance with the amount used <br />previously in comparable periods of past years. <br />(D) Where service is for Less than a quarterly period, the quarterly charges will be pro- <br />rated on a monthly basis. <br />(E) Where a separate connection is made to the Municipal water system for an automatic <br />sprinkler or irrigation system, the water and water service charge rates due and <br />payable by the user shall be equal to the rates charged in (A) above.
