311. AMUSEMENT CENTERS <br />311.010. DEFINITIONS. For the purpose of this Chapter, certain terms and words are <br />defined as follows: <br />(A) Amusement Center. Any room, place, or area, open to the public, located within any <br />building or structure, including, but not limited to, a bar, restaurant, lounge, supper <br />club, or bowling establishment, the purpose and use of which is to provide <br />amusement or entertainment through the operation of four (4) or more amusement <br />devices. <br />(B) Amusement Device. Any electronic or mechanical machine or device, which <br />operates or may be operated by the public by inserting a coin, coins, token, or tokens, <br />therein, which is intended for entertainment or amusement. This definition includes, <br />but is not limited to, such devices as billiard tables, pinball machines, table <br />shuffleboard games, table hockey and soccer games, video games, motion picture <br />machines, and all other electronic and mechanical machines and devices, which <br />operate or are operated for the entertainment or amusement of the public. An <br />"amusement device" is not a "gambling device" as defined by Minnesota Statutes. <br />(C) Operate. To conduct, manage, supervise, maintain or keep. <br />811.020. LICENSE REQUIRED. No person, firm or corporation shall operate an <br />amusement center within the City of Little Canada without first having applied for and received an <br />amusement center license as hereinafter provided. Operation of any amusement devices in a. <br />business establishment is prohibited, unless the area occupied by the amusement devices is licensed <br />as an amusement center. <br />811.030. APPLICATION. Each applicant for an amusement center license shall apply to <br />the City Administrator upon such forms as are provided by the City and shall answer all questions <br />and provide all information required on said. application. The application shall include a description <br />of the area within which the amusement devices are to be located. <br />811.040. LICENSE FEE. Amusement center licenses shall be issued for one (1) year <br />periods commencing July 1 of each year. The annual license fee shall be $15 per site plus $15 per <br />machine, and shall be paid at the time of making application. <br />In the event said appiication is rejected, the full fee shall be refunded. <br />811.050. INSURANCE. The applicant for an amusement center license shall provide the <br />City with a Certificate of Insurance evidencing liability coverage in the amount of <br />$100,000/$300,000, with a provision that the City be held harmless. <br />811.060.
