:MAYOR
Michael 1. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600 ADMINISTRATOR
(651) 484 -2177 / FAX: (651) 484 -4538 Joel R. Hanson
Email: cityhall @ci.little- canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Greg Schroeder, Public Works Director
Joel R. Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: October 20, 2000
RE: Little Canada Road Update
Since the last Council meeting a lot of work has taken place on the Little Canada Road
project. The following is a summary of some of the major items:
> Concrete curb and gutter work was started the week of October 9th and completed
October 17th.
> CP Rail completed the new railroad crossing and opened it up to traffic on October
11th. (While they surprised us with this schedule and created some inconvenience, it
is nice to have this work done.)
> Two lifts of bituminous material (2" bituminous base course and 2" bituminous
binder course) were placed on October 19th and 20th effectively sealing the roadbed
from the weather.
> Palda & Sons, Inc. is currently working on the Country Drive right -turn lane. If the
weather holds and the subcontractor schedules work out, we could see new curb and
gutter on Country Drive early in the week of October 23s and bituminous paving
completed by November ls`.
> Palda & Sons, Inc. will now focus on raising the iron in the road, restoring driveway
accesses, and completion of work at Spooner Park and the Aspen Pond area.
> Power lines were removed the week of October 16th. Poles should be removed
shortly.
Page 67
