easement, but temporary uses such as storage, drive areas, etc., are permissible within the
easterly 25 feet of the easement. Based upon this information, I asked Mr. Valento to re-
evaluate any possible building alignments that would negate the need for this variance.
It has been determined that a variance is required if the accessory building is to be located
in front of the rear building line of the principle structure. We have proceeded to process
this variance, and it will be considered at the August 10th Planning Commission meeting.
Given the need for the additional variance with the current building lay -out, it would be
my recommendation we table this matter for an additional two weeks so that both issues
can be considered simultaneously. If Mr. Valento can present a new configuration that
negates the need for the second variance while addressing the other concerns raised by
the Council, it would then be appropriate to review this matter at our August 9th meeting.
cc: Don Valento
Steve Westerhaus, Building Official
Bernie Bullert, General Manager, St. Paul Water Utility
Page 2
