Cost
The following is a summary of proposals requested and received:
Firm Proposed Cost
Boarman Kroos Pfister Vogel & Assoc.
Buetow & Associates $14,250
CNH Architects $13,800
KKE Architecs -
Kodet Architectural Group, LTD $17,920
Howard R Green
Oertel Architects $4,750
SEH
TKDA $18,000
Oertel is the lowest proposal at $4,750, almost 1/3 the others. Therefore, from the standpoint of
initial capital cost alone Oertel provides the most financially appealing option.
Past Experience
All of the firms that submitted proposals were able to demonstrate that they had past experience
doing this type of work. However, Buetow, Kodet, and Oertel more actual public works garage
type experience.
Staff Qualifications /Approach
All of the firms that submitted proposals were able to demonstrate that their staff was qualified to
do this type of work.
Ability to meet Schedule
All of the firms that submitted proposals appear to be able to meet the schedule required.
However, Oertel's proposed approach to do this work, did not deviate from the scope of work.
References
All firm that submitted proposals provided references. Oertel's reference were contacted, and
check out fine.
Based on the above evaluation, I believe that Oertel Architects will be able to accomplish the
study and provides the best overall value for the City of Little Canada. Therefore, I
recommend that the City of Little Canada Council authorize staff to enter into a contract
with Oertel Architects to perform a deficiency study and report on the Public Works
Department facilities in accordance with the attached scope of work.
\ \CLCSRVOI \HOME\GregS \City Garage \Consultant Sete
Page 51
