MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />February 7,2008 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held on the 7`h day of February, 2008, in the <br />Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Vice-Chair Pam Davis called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of <br />the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Ms. Pam Davis <br />Ms. Linda Fahey <br />Mr. Thomas Maida <br />Ms. Clara Neis <br />Ms. Ruth Steinwall <br />Mr. Jim Fleischhacker <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />WELCOME The entire Commission welcomed Thomas Maida as a member of the Commission. <br />TO NEW <br />MEMBER <br />ELECTIONS Upon nomination by Neis, seconded by Steinwall, Pam Davis was unanimously elected <br />OF CHAIR as Chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission. <br />AND VICE <br />CHAIR Upon nomination by Neis, seconded by Steinwall, Linda Fahey was unanimously elected as <br /> Vice Chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission. <br />MINUTES The Commission noted that they did not received the January 3, 2008 minutes, therefore action <br />on those minutes was delayed until the March meeting. <br />WALTER The Parks Consultant reported that a request for bids has been advertised for the Walter <br />STREET Street trail connection. The bid opening is scheduled for February 28`x'. He explained <br />TRAIL that this is a joint trail project between the Cities of Little Canada and Maplewood and <br />CONNECTION is the final link in the trail system between the two cities connecting LaBore Road to Walter <br />Street. <br />Sanders reported that there has been a lot of interest in the project and he is hoping for four to <br />eight bids. In response to Maida's question, Sanders estimated the total project cost at $163,000 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
