Sherren St. Roseville, MN 55113 (H) 651 - 4894216 NARRATIVE: On Wednesday, June 14, 2000, tobacco compliance checks were being done in the city of Little Canada. I, Deputy Dori Martinez, was assigned t� this work detail. Working with me was a juvenile female that will be identified through this report as a Confidential Informant, Cl. The CI's DOB is 12/10/82, 17 years old. The CI was assigned to work with me through the Minnesota Assist -North Suburban Tobacco Compliance Project. A Polaroid picture was taken of the CI prior to the compliance checks. At 1302, the CI was dropped off in front of the Sinclair Station, 228 Little Canada Road, Little Canada MN 55113. The CI went in to the Sinclair Station and asked for a pack of Marlboro Lights. The employee, later identified as Thomas Richard Gautschi, DOB 10/14/60, asked to see some identification. The Cl presented her MN picture DL to Mr. Gautschi. Mr. Gautschi looked at the ID and then sold one pack of Marlboro Lights to the CI for $3.08. The CI came out to my vehicle and informed me that she was able to purchase a pack of Marlboro Lights from the male clerk. I went in to the store, identified myself as a Ramsey County Sheriffs Deputy, and informed Mr, Gautschi that he had just sold a tobacco product to a minor. I informed Mr. Gautschi that the sale of tobacco to a minor Is a gross misdemeanor offense, and that the City Attorney for Little Canada will be in Page 5
