It consists of the
installation of 57 — 150 watt HPS Lumec L60 lantern style fixtures mounted on a 15 foot
designer aluminum poles. (The poles are black in color.) To ensure quick replacement if
knocked down, two additional fixtures and poles are also required bringing the total to
59. A conduit will also be installed along the south side of Little Canada Road from
County Road C to the RR tracks. This will reduce future costs and enable easier
installation of additional streetlights on the south side of Little Canada Road if and/or
when needed. The cost is $241,523.00. A contract for this work with NSP is attached.
Based upon past discussion, staff recommends approval.
Electrical Outlets on Street Lights
Based on the above streetlight locations if we installed electrical outlets on 28 streetlights
the estimated cost would be $8,960 ($6,300 for the electrical circuit wiring of Little
Canada Road and $95 for each outlet and wires in streetlight poles). The cost would be
much more expensive to add outlets after the streetlights were installed (2x at least).
Underground service to properties along Little Canada Road
As requested at the last Council Meeting, I looked into the costs for providing
underground service to the residential properties along Little Canada Road. Based on
discussions with NSP, only the seven residential properties need to be addressed. The
estimated additional cost to provide underground service is $1,000 each, for a total of
$7,000. The one business I had questioned power supply is far enough back from Little
Canada Road where an underground service is not warranted.
\ \CLCSRVOI \HOMEVessicai \Agenda \une 9 \LC Rd Updatc.c
Page 101
