We are looking at two different designs, a
single head unit with a 150 watt bulb ($2,185 each) or a double head unit with two 100
watt bulbs ($3,495 each). The attached sketches of the lights are provided for your
reference.
We are looking for Council direction on the type of unit (single or double head) and the
spacing for the installed units. The closer they are installed the brighter the area will be.
The attached layout has the street lights 75 feet apart and across from each other.
To help you visualize the elumination capability and pattern of these street lights we
recommend you look at the street lights along Nicolet Avenue in Burnsville (use the
Burnsville Parkway exit off I -35W). These street lights are spaced about 115' apart and
have 150 watt bulbs. Please note that the head is different, but it provides the same
elumination.
H:VessicaJ \Corresp\2000 \Lighting LCI2 Memo.doc
Page 193
