Route by Route Descriptions & Maps
Radial Routes
Proposed Route 1 - Stinson /Silver Lake
This new route would combine the high - ridership portions of existing Routes 1 and 25 by operating
from downtown via Stinson, 33rd and Silver Lake Road. Service on the inner portion through St.
Anthony (to Apache Plaza) would be improved to every 30 minutes all day. Route 25 service north
and south of Highway 10 would be deleted due to low ridership, replaced by Flex Route service.
Instead, this route would operate non -stop via Highway 10 from Silver Lake Avenue to Northtown.
During rush hours, service starting north of Apache Plaza would travel with limited stops south of
County Road D, stopping only at Stinson & Lowry, Stinson & Hennepin, Hennepin & Johnson,
Hennepin & Central, and at all points south of Hennepin & Central.
MODIFIED Route 1 (will become Route 25) - Stinson /Silver Lake
Retain current service (Route 25F) north of Highway 10 all day.
Retain three morning and three aftemoon rush -hour trips to Innsbruck.
Retain rush -hour service on limited -stop trips via Silver Lake Road to Highway 88 (see map for
stop locations).
Retain current routing between 29th Avenue NE & Lowry along McKinley Street for Stinson
Parkway service. Maintain hourly service during middays.
The route will run via Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis and will be through- routed to current
Route 1 service south of downtown via Grant, Willow, and 15th/Oakgrove.
Service Day: 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Rush Hour Frequency: every 6 to 15 minutes
Midday Frequency: half - hourly /hourly
Early morning /evening Frequency: half- hourlylhourly
Proposed Route 4 - Johnson /Foss
This route would be simplified to a consistent two -way routing to use the highest- ridership
segments and avoid duplicating Silver Lake Avenue service. Consistent half hour all -day frequency
is recommended to New Brighton and continuing to the Mounds View Park & Ride lot, providing
commuters with midday access to their cars. Added frequency would be provided during rush
hours.
Page 254
