MODIFIED Route 4 • Johnson /Foss <br />Terminate New Brighton service at the current location of Old Highway 8 & 14th Street NW. County <br />Road H Park & Ride customers can use Route 250 for midday returns to this location. <br />Service Day: 4 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. <br />Rush Hour Frequency: every 10 to 15 minutes <br />Midday Frequency: half - hourly to hourly <br />Early morning/evening Frequency: half- hourly to hourly <br />Proposed Route 10 - Central <br />One of the region's most important trunk lines, Route 10 would run every 15 minutes all day and <br />every 5 minutes during rush hours from downtown to 53rd & Central, an extension from the current <br />point at 40th. Night owl service would continue to terminate at 40th due to schedule limitations. <br />Extending frequency to 53rd & Central Avenue would provide vastly improved access to Columbia <br />Heights' commercial core, ending at Skywood Mali and Target. <br />Service on University south of 53rd would be replaced by Route 201, and by Route 18 at 40th <br />Street. <br />Route 10 would retain two branches, each running every half -hour all day. One would continue <br />from Skywood Mall to Northtown via 53rd and University; the other would travel via Central, <br />Osborne and University to Northtown. Service along University between Osborne and Northtown <br />would operate every 15 minutes all day. Service on Monroe through Spring Lake Park would be <br />eliminated due to low ridership and low densities. <br />MODIFIED Route 10 - Central Avenue <br />The current Central Avenue branch will continue to operate on Monroe to Northtown. <br />NEW routes 801 and 824 will serve University Avenue south of 53rd and along 44th. <br />Routes 824 and 829 (current Route 29) will provide rush hour limited -stop service on Central <br />Avenue. Some rush hour trips will terminate at the Columbia Heights Transit Hub at 4151 Ave NE & <br />Central Ave. This hub will be complete by summer of 2000 and provide a convenient transfer point <br />for routes 10, 18, 801, 824, & 829. <br />Route 18 will provide Grand Avenue service south of downtown Minneapolis. <br />Service Day: round - the -clock <br />Rush Hour Frequency: every six to 15 minutes <br />Midday Frequency: 15 to 30 minutes <br />Early morninglevening Frequency: 20 to 30 minutes <br />Owl Service: hourly <br />Page 255 <br />
