This route would begin at a new Park & Ride at 95th Avenue
in Blaine, stopping at the Mounds View Park & Ride, which may be expanded through reuse of the
Arsenal site. No express service would extend north of 95th Avenue, due to low demand in this
area, including the Correctional Facility. However, connections to Flex Route 209 would allow
access to Lino Lakes, Lexington, Circle Pines or Centerville.
MODIFIED Route 255 (will become Route 250) -- Blaine /Mounds View Express
This route will mirror current Route 38, with service north of the 95th Avenue Park & Ride lot. While
the plan includes cutting the northernmost portion of Route 38, this reduction WILL NOT take place
until completion of a Park & Ride lot on the northwest comer of I -35W and 95th Avenue.
This new site will accommodate 800 cars and relieve the crowded conditions at nearby Park &
Ride lots. Metro Transit is currently working with Mn /DOT, Anoka County and the City of Blaine to
build this lot in 2001/2002.
When the local portion of Route 38 is eliminated, Metro Transit will consider serving that area with
a shuttle bus.
Service Day: rush hour (plus one midday trip)
Rush Hour Frequency: every 6 to 15 minutes
Midday Frequency: one midday trip at noon
Early morninglevening Frequency: N/A
Page 263
