M Q , a: azt-
Page 84
— a -o -t1
Falcon Heights
game and pool
arcade will close
..I's Pool and Game Arcade in
.Falcon Heights will close March 1,
owners Jim and Joe Sacco told the
Falcon Heights City Council last
week.
City officials had asked the own-
; "ers to put two uniformed security
• guards on duty at night, one inside,
the other patrolling the rear park-
ing lot, because nine of the city's 19
police calls for assaults in 1990 had
been calls to J.J.'s. Jim Sacco said
the arcade could not afford two
guards.
J.J's has been open for two years
in the Northome Center at 1544 W.
Larpenteur Ave., drawing two or
three, dozen customers nightly to
its five pool tables and 25 video
games.
"This type of operation causes
too many problems," Sacco said af-
ter the meeting. "You find a lot of
loitering with video games. A few
bad apples cause the problems for
the good apples." •
—He said part of the problem
stemmed from the location of the
parking lot behind the building.
■
