...
residential housing.
The Bankshot Mall area appeared to be well kept, lighted,
and policed, including both the front and rear of the store
areas. I noted that a fence that separates the mall from
the nearby residential area does not run the full length of
the rear of the businesses. While I see no specific
evidence to suggest that completing this fence would
counter any problems, it may head off transgressions into
the residential area in the future, if that becomes a
problem. The down side of completing this fence, is that
juveniles who use the rear of the stores to park or party
etc., would not be a visible as they now are.
I would recommend continued monitoring of this situation
and advising the local residents and merchants to call us
for any problems they may be encountering. I would also
recommend that our crime prevention deputies conduct an
analysis of this area and possible neighborhood watch
formation. You can arrange this thought Lt. Dornbusch.
In assisting me compile these calls for service, Lt.
Dornbusch advised me that it appeared their were an a lot
of calls to U.S. Swin and Fitness. Research revealed that
since the first of the year, they have had the following
calls for service:
accidents = 3
medicals = 3
thefts = 17
suspicious pers = 5
harassment = 2
indecent exp = 1
fraud = 1
parking = 5
dispute = 1
Crim Damage to prop = 1
Disorderly juveniles = 1
Most alarming of these is the number of thefts, and I
assume they are equally from vehicles in the lot, as well
as interior locker room thefts. FYI.
Let me know if you need any additional information
regarding the strip mall.
c.c. Cmdr. Bergeron
Page 87
