The Northeast Diagonal Transitway information is on the April 12th Rush Line Task
Force meeting agenda. This discussion will be its introduction to the Task Force
discussions. Another meeting is to be held on April 26, 2000 in Roseville.
My recommendation is not to adopt the Joint Powers Agreement at this time. My
reasons are as follows:
1. The uncertainty of the State Legislature transit funding.
2. The lack of any other city or township participants adopting the Agreement to
date.
3. The funding liability of the City under Article VII section 1 & 2, A &B should we
decide to participate or withdraw from the Agreement.
4. The Rush Line Corridor technical information from Parsons Binkerhoff is not
available to evaluate its impact on the City of Little Canada or the feasibility of
the entire project.
However, we should evaluate this Joint Powers Agreement before the December 31,
2000 deadline as this will ensure the City of Little Canada with one (1) representative
vote on Rush Line Task Force decisions in the future should this project move forward.
Attachments:
1.
