The Roadside Enhancement Planting
Project was accomplished by the residents along Viking Drive with assistance from the City of
Little Canada.
Due to the great deal of time and effort many of the Viking Drive residents expended on the
Roadside Enhancement Planting Project, they requested that after Viking Drive was
reconstructed, the Roadside Enhancement Plantings also be restored. We attempted to
accomplish this last fall by requesting bids for the Viking Drive Planting Project. However, the
one bid we received was too high and was rejected and the project was re -bid in March 2000.
The following is a summary of the bids we received:
August 1999 March 2000
George's Companies $0 $20,950
Margolis Company 19,630 0
Timber -n- Turf 0 13,000
After evaluating the bids, it was determined that the Timber -n- Turf bid of $13,000 provided the
best value for the City of Little Canada. I recommend that the Council direct staff to enter into a
contract with Timber -n- Turf for our Viking Drive Planting Project for the lump sum price of
$13,000.
HdKrisP \CORRESP\ 2000 \Viking Drive Planting Project.doc
Page 127
