Mr. Joel Hanson
April 4, 2000
page 2
requirement. Mr. Rossez was informed by Bill Tschida of our staff that it is
not Board policy or practice to sell land which contains necessary water
works facilities for the purpose of property development, but that SPRWS
would support the grant of a setback variance. I believe this to be the best
means of resolving the problem. The R/W contains the only conduits which
carry raw water to the McCarron's Water Treatment Plant and will always
be required for this purpose. I believe selling land of this essential nature
would not be prudent asset management and might establish a precedent
which would make future management all the more difficult.
3. Water Service Pipes Across the R/W
The development plan originally proposed to install water services in the R/W.
A revised proposal faxed to Dave Wagner, of our production staff, indicates
a location west of the R/W. Therefore, this is no longer an issue for SPRWS.
I would very much like to meet with you to discuss and resolve these issues so the Respite Home
can be constructed and begin serving the community. Please call me at 651- 266 -6274 to schedule
a time convenient for you.
WLT /BRB /jml
copy: Bill Tschida
Sincerely,
tt.
Bernie R.
