MINUTES <br />Parks & Recreation Commission <br />January 3, 2008 <br />• Babysitter Safety Class -this program is conducted by a Red Cross trainer and co-sponsored <br />by the American Red Cross. It is an excellent class in that it not only teaches the babysitting <br />skills but also teaches about safety and how to handle emergency situations. <br />• Market Place Morning Talks -this is a monthly health education series for the community <br />held on the second Wednesday of each month at the LC Bingo Hall. There is a different <br />informational topic each month and is co-sponsored by several organizations within the <br />surrounding area. <br />• Men's Open Basketball -this is a program for men 35 years or older that is at the Roseville <br />Middle School back gym that is held at the same time on Thursday nights as the youth <br />basketball in the front gym, to share the cost of the facility. It runs from January 10 - <br />February 28 fi•om 7:30-9:00 p.m. <br />• Open Volleyball -this program is for both men and women ages 18 and over held at the LC <br />Elementary School's gymnasium of Friday evenings from January 11 -March 28, 2008 <br />from 6:30-9:00 pm. This program was not offered last year. <br />COMMISSION Morelan stated that he and Tony Mans met with and interviewed the two new applicants for <br />APPLICANTS the Park & Recreation Commission last evening. They have given their recommendations to <br />the City Council to make their selections at the council meeting on Wednesday, January 9`~'. <br />GRAFFITI Davis asked if the graffiti issue in Gervais Mills Park had been handled.
