AGREEMENT FOR BUILDING INSPECTION SERVICES <br />THIS AGREEMENT made and entered into this 1st day of March 2000, by and between the City <br />of Little Canada, State of Minnesota (hereinafter referred to as "City "), and Stephen Westerhaus, d/b /a <br />Northland Inspections, a Minnesota Limited Liability Corporation (hereinafter referred to as `Building <br />Official"). <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, City wishes to contract with Building Official to perform building inspection and <br />related services within City's boundaries; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS MUTUALLY AGREED by and between City and Building Official <br />as follows: <br />L SCOPE OF SERVIC S <br />I. Building Official agrees to provide building inspection services for City. Stephen J. <br />Westerhaus shall be designated as the Building Official /Inspector for City under the terms of this <br />Agreement. Westerhaus is authorized to delegate his duties and responsibilities under this agreement to <br />employees and /or others with whom he contracts who shall perform such services as he directs under <br />his supervision and according to the terms of this Agreement. <br />2. Except as otherwise specifically set forth herein, building inspection services shall only <br />include those types of duties and functions customarily rendered by building officials under law, and <br />shall not include services which are normally provided by the State of Minnesota such as electrical <br />inspections and issuance of electrical permits. Nor shall it include such services which are normally <br />provided by Ramsey County Department of Health including, but not limited to, hazardous property <br />inspection for the purposes of Minnesota Statute § 463.15, et. seq. Services to be rendered shall also <br />not include permits to be issued for signage unless a building permit is required. <br />3. The standards of performance, method of providing building inspection services as well as <br />other matters incidental to the performance of services under this Agreement including personnel to be <br />employed shall be determined by Building Official upon consultation with City. <br />4. Under this Agreement, City will receive all applications for building permits for all projects <br />within its boundaries as required by existing laws, codes, and ordinances. Applications will then be <br />forwarded to Building Official who shall review application material for conformance to planning, <br />zoning, subdivision, building code, and other local codes and regulations. <br />Page 18 <br />
