5. All applications for permits which require variances, conditional use permits or other special <br />permits under existing ordinances of City shall first be resolved by City prior to submission of <br />applications for building permits to Building Official. No building permit shall be issued until City, <br />through the office of its administrator, had executed a consent to issuance thereon. All special <br />conditions and requirements which have been imposed by City shall be specified in writing and attached <br />to the application. <br />6. Building Official shall issue all building permit as required by the existing building codes. <br />Said issuance will occur in a timely manner, typically within three business days of application filing for <br />residential permits and ten business days of application filing for commercial permits assuming all <br />materials are complete. Building Official shall assist City as necessary in compiling data relative to <br />permit issuance to assist in filing all necessary reports. <br />7. Pursuant to this Agreement, Building Official shall provide plan check services as required by <br />laws, regulations and ordinances. <br />8. Building Official shall provide all job site inspection on projects under permit as is required <br />by existing building codes and City ordinances and such other reasonable inspections as may be deemed <br />necessary by him/her in order to ensure compliance with the building code. <br />9. Daily inspection shall be logged by Building Official. Inspections shall, as much as possible, <br />performed within eight business hours of the request for inspection. <br />10. Upon completion of each project, Building Official shall issue a certificate of occupancy of <br />said project. <br />11. City shall collect all fees and charges for building permit applications. City shall also collect <br />all building permit surcharge fees, sewer availability charges and City fees as may be required by statute, <br />regulation or ordinance. City shall account for and disburse all such funds as is required by law. <br />12. Building Officials services shall also encompass assisting the City in organizing and <br />management of the Inspections Department including, but not limited to, ordinance reviews to ensure <br />consistency with other codes and current practices, form revisions to provide appropriate <br />documentation of services provided, policy revisions to enhance the quality of work, and preparation of <br />public information materials to make citizen dealings with the City as efficient as possible based upon a <br />customer service attitude. <br />13. Building Official shall not be required, but may be requested from time to time, to attend <br />Little Canada City Counsel meetings. Building Official shall attend preconstruction meetings for <br />commercial and residential projects as needed. <br />14. City shall, if requested by Building Official, provide input from its fire department, police <br />service provider, public works superintendent, planning consultant, and other staff members as <br />appropriate to each building permit application. <br />Page 19 <br />
