Public Works <br />• Existing Facilities: <br />City Garage at 3100 Country Drive = 7,200 SF (60'X120') Building. <br />4 Bays (24 feet wide) for Equipment Storage and Maintenance plus a <br />60' by 24' parts storage, meter room, office, locker area, bathroom, <br />and break area. <br />Existing Locker room has no privacy (Part office area /part locker area). <br />Break area too small. Have to move chair in so some can get by. <br />Always moving equipment out of the way when you need to use <br />another or work on it. <br />Garage is not very well insulated (max ' /2' thick). <br />Existing Force Air Furnaces are original and need to be replaced. <br />Existing garage doors (12' wide by 12' high) are to narrow and not high <br />enough. Vactor clears under door frame by only 2 inches. Plows on <br />plow trucks have to be turned (angled) to make it through. <br />Inadequate ventilation in garage area. <br />No fire sprinkler system. <br />14,500 SF outside storage area. 10,300 SF is paved. Even though <br />this seems to be a large storage area, we are actually cramped, due to <br />the type of equipment and materials we need on hand to do our job. <br />Storage in Water Tower = 2,000 SF. <br />Share about half of this area with Canadian Days. <br />Considered quasi dry storage. Cold in Winter, Damp in Summer. <br />Old Fire Hall at 440 E Little Canada Road = 2700 SF <br />3 Bays (aboutl8 feet wide) for Equipment Storage and Maintenance <br />plus a combined office /break/locker room area in back. <br />Always moving equipment out of the way when you need to use <br />another or work on it. <br />Have to transport equipment to City Garage for major maintenance. <br />Page 88 <br />
