Hanson <br />Email: cityhall@ci.little- canada.mn.us <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Greg Schroeder, Public Works Director <br />DATE: December 30, 1999 <br />RE: Contract for Sump Pump Inspection <br />The City of Little Canada's Sump Pump Inspection Program came to a stand still with the <br />resignation of the program inspector Bill Dircks. Bill completed approximately 1,000 of <br />approximately 2,200 properties needing inspection prior to his departure. <br />Sufficient City staff is not available to complete the remaining inspections. Therefore, on <br />December 17, 1999, the City requested proposals from seven companies to complete the <br />inspection of private property sump pump connections to the City's sanitary sewer system. <br />Proposals were to be received by noon on December 30, 1999. (See attached copy of the <br />Request for Proposals.) <br />The following is a summary of proposal results: <br />Proposal <br />1. Bucher Company Environmental Services, Inc. No bid <br />2. Visu -Sewer Clean & Seal, Inc $46,950 <br />3. Howard R. Green Company $39,620 <br />4. SEH $130,680 <br />5. TKDA $64,020 <br />6. DH2M Hill No bid <br />7. Barr Engineering Company No bid <br />The proposals received were reviewed and evaluated in accordance with Section V of the RFP. <br />Based on this review and evaluation, it is recommended that the Council authorize staff to <br />execute a contract with Howard R. Green Company to complete the City's Sump Pump <br />Inspection Program for a total estimated amount of $39,620. The 2000 Water /Sewer Capital <br />Budget has $28,000 identified for this work. <br />Page 23 <br />
