MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 28, 1992
Blesener pointed out that the proposed ordinance limits
accessory auto sales to no more than three, and asked
if this was in conflict with the limitation in the B -2
District.
The Planner reported that his interpretation would be
that there are three auto sales licenses allowed in the
B -2 District and another three allowed under this
proposed ordinance for a total of six.
Blesener felt that the two ordinances would be in
conflict and subject to interpretation as to the number
of licenses that would be allowed. Some might
interpret a total of three retail auto sales licenses,
while others might interpret six.
Council discussed at length the total number of retail
auto sales licenses that should be allowed in the City,
and it was the consensus of the Council to allow a
total of four licenses, with a maximum of two allowed
in the B -2 District at any given time.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 92 -10 -382 - INSTRUCTING THE CITY PLANNER
TO REDRAFT AND RESUBMIT TO THE COUNCIL THE PROPOSED
AUTO SALES ORDINANCE TO CLEARLY DEFINE A MAXIMUM OF
FOUR RETAIL AUTO SALES LICENSES IN THE CITY, WITH NO
MORE THAN TWO OF THESE LICENSES ALLOWED IN THE BUSINESS
DISTRICT AT ANY GIVEN TIME
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Collova.
Ayes (5) Scalze, Collova, Hanson, LaValle, Blesener.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
WETLAND The Planner reported that the State is considering
REGULATIONS adoption of no net loss wetland regulation. The
Planner reported that he would provide the Council with
further information on these regulations as it becomes
available.
SHORELAND The City Administrator recommended approval of a
GRANT Shoreland Grant Agreement, which would involve a 50%
AGREEMENT matching grant up to a maximum of $5,000 to be used
toward the City's costs in updating its shoreland
regulations.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
Page 13
