MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 5, 2000 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Fahey, Morelan, Scalze, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CDBG/HOME Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />FUNDS <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000 -1 -9 — APPROVING THE RAMSEY COUNTY <br />CDBG/HOME FUNDS PRIORITY RANKING AS RECOMMENDED <br />BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Fahey, Morelan, Pedersen, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />SUMP PUMP The Public Works Director recommended that the Council award the low <br />INSPECTION bid submitted by Howard R. Green Company for completion of the City's <br />CONTRACT sump pump inspection program. The City Administrator pointed out that <br />the Water and Sewer Capital Replacement Account will need to be <br />adjusted by $12,000 to cover the cost of completing this program. <br />Council discussed the fact that the sump pump inspection program should <br />result in less discharge of surface water into the sanitary sewer system. It <br />was noted that the City pays treatment costs for water running through the <br />sanitary sewers, thus eliminating the surface water will reduce the City's <br />costs. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000 -1 -10 — APPROVING THE CONTRACT <br />WITH HOWARD R. GREEN COMPANY FOR SUMP PUMP <br />INSPECTION AS RECOMMENDED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS <br />DIRECTOR, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT ON BEHALF <br />OF THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Morelan, Pedersen, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />RAMSEY The City Administrator reported that the Ramsey County League is <br />COUNTY requesting that cities prioritize legislative issues given that RCLLG <br />LEAGUE representatives will be meeting with Ramsey County legislators on <br />Page 237 <br />
