Roster Size:
Teams will consist of 12 or 13 players. If there is more than one team in an age level, the highest
level team will consist of 12 players and the other teams will consist of 13 players. Where there
is only one team in an age level, that team will consist of 13 players. Any deviation from this
requires Parks and Recreation Department approval. Tryouts will be conducted, if necessary.
When it is determined that there are enough players registered in any one age level to form more
than one team, it is the goal of the Parks and Recreation Department to structure those teams to
different levels of competition within the Tri- County League (i.e., one A and one B team). Any
deviation will be at the discretion of the Parks and Recreation Department.
Tryouts:
1f there are more than 13 girls registered at a particular age level, tryouts will be held to reduce
the team to the appropriate number of players as listed in the previous paragraph. The top 9 or
10 players will be placed on the team and the Head Coach will select the last 3 players to make
the team. The Parks and Recreation Department will select judges to rate players at tryouts.
Eligibility:
The Little Canada Girls' Fastpitch Program is open to girls who are residents of Little Canada,
residents of Roseville Area School District 623, students attending a school in Little Canada, and
residents of communities that border Little Canada that do not have a fastpitch program.
Residents of other communities may register and be placed on a waiting list. They will be
allowed to play only if openings exist and proper waiver forms are obtained.
Batting Cages:
Batting practice may be held using the pitching machines and batting cages located at Pioneer
Park and behind the Old Fire Hall. There will be a schedule at each facility for reservation of
times on a first come first serve basis. Request keys and procedural information from the Parks
and Recreation office.
Junior Olympic Fall Fastpitch League.
The Little Canada Recreation Department IS NOT involved with this program. Anyone can
form a team and participate in the program, provided they pay all fees associated. The Parks and
Recreation Department will lend the team the needed equipment for an appropriate fee provided
at least i/ of the girls played on a Little Canada fastpitch team during the summer season. There
will be a charge for preparation and use of fields for league games.
Other:
The Parks and Recreation Department will make decisions on any items not specifically
addressed in these guidelines.
Page 242
