MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 11, 2012 <br />acknowledged the wonderful hospitality that was afforded them. He <br />indicated that many people from Thunder Bay will be coming to the <br />Canadian Days Celebration. <br />CONSENT The City Administrator noted that Item #3 on the Consent Agenda, <br />AGENDA Authorize Certification of Nuisance Abatement Charges for 2600 Spruce <br />Street, was already approved by the Council this past May. He requested <br />removal of this item from the agenda. Council concurred. <br />Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -7 -119 - APPROVING THE CONSENT <br />AGENDA WHICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING: <br />*APPROVAL OF THE VOUCHERS; <br />*AUTHORIZE ABATEMENT OF NUISANCE FOR 135 VIKING <br />DRIVE, UNIT #302, AS RECOMMENDED BY CITY STAFF; <br />*APPROVAL OF PARTIAL PAY REQUEST FOR T.A. SCHIFSKY <br />FOR 2011 STREET IMPROVEMENTS <br />*APPROVAL OF PARTIALPAY REQUEST FOR T.A. SCHIFSKY <br />FOR 2012 MILL & OVERLAY PROJECTS AS AMENDED BY THE <br />CITY ENGINEER <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The Administrator reported that it may not be necessary for the City to <br />abate the nuisance at 135 Viking Drive as the family is making progress in <br />getting the property cleaned up. However, if the clean -up is not completed <br />by July 1 8th, then the City will proceed with the abatement. <br />PROSECUTION Ramsey County Judge Gary Bastian appeared before the Council to give <br />UPDATE a report on the County court system as well as Little Canada's prosecution <br />activities. He indicated that he has been a judge for almost 18 years as <br />well as has served at the local government level. Bastian noted that city <br />government is the closest to the people. He also noted that at the court <br />level, he deals with people every day and at a time when they are not at <br />their best. <br />2 <br />
