Please obtain the required license. Failure to do so will subject you to additional costs as well <br />as the inability to rent your home in the future. <br />The first four items listed need to be corrected by Wednesday, July 25, 2012. If not corrected by that <br />date, the City will take the necessary steps to abate the nuisance pursuant to Section 601.080 of the <br />Little Canada City Code. (Text Below) This process will include staffs request of the City Council <br />to authorize the abatement of these nuisance violations at their meeting of July 25, 2012. If so <br />ordered, all costs of the abatement together with a fee in the amount of not more than 25% of the cost <br />to abate the nuisance shall be imposed for collection with 2013 property taxes. In no event shall the <br />administrative fee be less than $50.00. <br />The fifth item needs to be addressed by Mr. Rodrigues by no later than July 31, 2012. Failure to do <br />so could result in additional enforcement action. <br />The last item needs to be addressed by Ms. Granmoe. You need to have the unit inspected and all <br />corrections completed together with submittal of the application materials and fees by not later that <br />August 17, 2012. <br />We would respectfully request you complete the work items noted with the allotted time and then <br />keep the property maintained in a reasonable manner going forward. ABATEMENT OF NUISANCE BY COUNCIL. If, after service of notice of intent to <br />abate nuisance, the person served fails to abate the nuisance or make the necessary repairs, alterations <br />or changes in accordance with the direction of the Code Enforcement Officer, the City Council may <br />cause such nuisance to be abated at the expense of the City and recover such costs against the person <br />or persons served. To cover administrative costs necessarily incurred in the abatement and <br />assessment procedure, an administrative fee in the amount of not more than 25% of the cost to abate <br />the nuisance shall be imposed, except that in no event shall the administrative fee be less than $50.00. <br />As to any such costs, the City Council shall direct the City Administrator to extend such sums as an <br />assessment against the property upon which the nuisance existed and shall certify the same to the <br />Ramsey County Auditor for collection in the same manner as taxes and special assessments are <br />certified and collected. <br />5 <br />
