MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 25, 2012 <br />The Council thanked Wilson for her presentation. It was noted that <br />Council Member Montour is on the franchise renewal committee and <br />would keep the Council informed during the process. <br />At this point (7:20 p.m.) the workshop was temporarily adjourned and <br />Council indicated it would be reconvened following the regular Council <br />meeting this evening. The workshop reconvened at 9:36 p.m. <br />RICE STREET/ The Administrator presented a diagram of a sign to be used to market <br />VIKING the property the City owns on Rice Street and Viking Drive. The <br />DRIVE Administrator reported that in working with ASAP Signs, their <br />PROPERTY discussion was to keep the sign somewhat generic relative to potential <br />uses of the property and to put together a detailed information sheet for <br />this property. Boss suggested that the colors used to show the available lot <br />be darker. The Administrator indicated that he would work with the sign <br />consultant on colors. He suggested a sign 32 square feet in size, one- <br />sided, facing parallel to Rice Street. Council agreed. <br />PUBLIC The City Administrator reported that the Mayor received a letter from <br />WORKS Donovan Construction indicating their interest in selling their property <br />GARAGE & at 53 South Owasso Blvd. Donovan Construction would like to sell by <br />REDEVELOP- the end of this year and could vacate the property in August. <br />MENT AREA <br />The Administrator presented a map of the Donovan property as well as the <br />surrounding properties that could potentially be redeveloped. He further <br />indicated that he recently met with Dan Tacheny who indicated that he <br />would like to sell his property which is located just south of the Donovan <br />site. It was noted that the City already owns the former Roseville <br />Plumbing property. The Administrator pointed out that the Tacheny <br />property would provide access into the redevelopment area, but indicated <br />that access further to the east would be preferable. He indicated that he <br />has talked to Terry Lee about his property which is just east of the <br />Tacheny lot. The Administrator suggested that he contact Mr. Lee again <br />to determine if there is any interest in selling at this time. <br />The Administrator then reviewed the County's estimated market values <br />for each of the sites in the proposed redevelopment area. <br />Blesener asked about placement of a new Public Works Garage in the <br />redevelopment area. The Administrator indicated that McGough <br />Construction has indicated their interest in acting as the land developer of <br />this area with the City assembling the parcels. McGough has indicated <br />that a redevelopment consisting of smaller users is most feasible. The <br />Administrator indicated there may be some potential for a larger user. <br />4 <br />
