MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 25, 2012
NIGHT TO
UNITE
HERO'S
DAY
REPRE-
SENTATIVE
BEV
SCALZE
PRELIMINARY
& FINAL
PLAT —
YORKTON
RIDGE
ESTATES
Blesener reminded the public that Tuesday, August 7th, is Night To Unite.
There are currently 19 block parties scheduled in the City. Any additional
neighborhoods interested should contact the Ramsey County Sheriff's
Department to schedule their block party.
Blesener proclaimed Saturday, July 28, 2012 as Twin Cities Heroes Day
in Little Canada in recognition of those who have served our country in
military uniform over the last decade and in conjunction with the
Celebration of Heroes Day parade that day. The parade will be held on
July 28th at 11 a.m. in downtown Minneapolis.
Blesener reported that the League of Minnesota Cities has recognized 23
legislators, including Representative Bev Scalze, for their efforts on behalf
of local governments. Blesener thanked Representative Scalze for her
on behalf of Little Canada and the District she serves.
Blesener opened the continued Public Hearing to consider the Preliminary
and Final plat for Yorkton Ridge Estates consisting of three single - family
residential lots. It was noted that the City Planner, City Engineer, and the
Planning Commission have recommended approval subject to conditions.
Blesener noted that action on this proposal was tabled in June pending
resolution of an ownership issue. Linda Brown, Stantec Consulting
Services representing TCF, reported that TCF owns the property and the
potential purchaser has cancelled her purchase agreement for this property.
TCF would like to proceed with the plat as proposed. Brown indicated
that TCF is in agreement with all recommended conditions, including the
requirement to enter into a Development Agreement with the City for this
property.
There was no one else from the general public present wishing to
comment on this matter.
Upon motion by Keis, seconded by Montour, the public hearing was
closed.
Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -7 -125 — APPROVING THE PRELIMINARY
AND FINAL PLAT FOR YORKTON RIDGE ESTATES SUBJECT TO
COMPLIANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY
PLANNER, CITY ENGINEER, PLANNING COMMISSION, AND
CITY ADMINISTRATOR WHICH INCLUDES A REQUIREMENT
2
