MINUTES <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />JULY 19, 2012 <br />Slain asked if this would be a good reason to use materials other than <br />sand, such as wood chips, in playground areas. Steinert indicated that he <br />visited a park that had a padded carpeted area under playground <br />equipment. Sanders pointed out that the City has used some of the carpet <br />treatment for accessible areas, and noted that this is very expensive. <br />The Director reported that this is the first year that sand wasps have <br />become an issue, and suggested that the Parks Department look for a <br />solution to this problem. <br />CANADIAN The Director reminded the Commission that Canadian Days will be held <br />DAYS August 3, 4, 5, 2012. <br />ADJOURN Sullivan moved the meeting be adjourned. <br />Motion seconded by Steinert. <br />Motion carried 5 — 0. <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />7t <br />Kathy Glanze <br />City Clerk <br />7 <br />
