Mayor & City Council
July 9, 1999
Page 2
Possible consideration in reducing the false alarm charges may be their new status as property
owners, the fact that they are installing a new alarm system, and our possible need to work with
them cooperatively in the future for the siting of water retention ponds on their property for the
Rice Street/Little Canada Road Redevelopment Project. However, to be consistent with other
alarm users within the City, I do not feel we can grant a reduction in the alarms. Rather, I would
propose we meet with Mr. Ted Bigos and discuss the acquisition of an easement for ponding on
the property. We could then compensate for the easement in an amount equal to the false alarm
charges incurred.
I am presenting this matter for your consideration and comment. Your direction would be
appreciated.
JRH:kpp
Enclosure
cc: Ted Bigos, Bigos Management
PAGE 181
